Haltwhistle incident: All train lines closed, services disrupted

Emergency services are dealing with an incident in Haltwhistle, Northumberland, and all train lines are currently closed. National Rail has warned of expected disruption between Carlisle and Newcastle until 11am.

Services cancelled or delayed

In a post on social media, National Rail said: "The emergency services dealing with an incident between Hexham and Carlisle means all lines are currently closed."

As a result, trains will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, or revised. Road replacement transport, operated by Northstar, will run at 08:50 from Hexham to Carlisle, calling at Haydon Bridge, Bardon Mill, Haltwhistle, Brampton, and Wetheral.
