National Highways has confirmed a series of overnight motorway closures across Greater Manchester between Friday 14 August and Sunday 16 August, affecting sections of the M6, M60, M62, M56, M67 and the A34.
Friday 14 August closures
On the M6, southbound carriageway closures are planned between junctions 33 and 32, and between junctions 6 and 5, with entry slip roads closed at junctions 33, 20 and at Knutsford Services. Northbound closures include the carriageway between junctions 27 and 28, with entry and exit slip roads at junctions 27 and 28, plus the Charnock Richard Services slip roads. Link roads to the M1, M56 and M42 are also affected.
The M60 will see clockwise closures between junctions 4 and 5, with slip road closures at junctions 2, 3, 5, 11 and 18. Anti-clockwise slip roads at junction 11 are also closed. On the M62, eastbound entry slip roads close at junctions 27, 29 and 34, with an exit slip at junction 34 and junction 11. Westbound closures include the exit slip at junction 11 and 7, plus a link road to the M6 northbound.
Other closures include the M67 eastbound and westbound between junctions 3 and 4, the M56 westbound at junction 14 and junction 7, and the M61 northbound exit slip at junction 5.
Saturday 15 August closures
On Saturday, the M6 southbound sees slip road closures at junctions 21 and 17, and a carriageway closure between junctions 10 and 7. Northbound, the carriageway closes between junctions 39 and 40 with an entry slip at junction 39. The M60 clockwise carriageway closes between junctions 4 and 5 again, with slip roads at junctions 2, 3, 5 and 11.
The M62 westbound carriageway closes between junction 35 and the M18 southbound junction 7. The M67 westbound closes between junctions 2 and 0, with an entry slip at junction 1A. The A34 northbound closure continues, and the A56 and A62 closures remain in place.
Sunday 16 August closures
On Sunday, the M56 westbound carriageway closes between junctions 7 and 9, with an entry slip at junction 8 and a link to the M6 northbound. The M6 southbound carriageway closes between junctions 40 and 39, with an entry slip at junction 40, and a northbound exit slip closes at junction 32.
The M60 sees an anti-clockwise carriageway closure between junctions 5 and 4, with slip roads at junctions 4 and 5, plus a clockwise exit slip at junction 3. The M61 northbound exit slip at junction 5 closes again. The A34, A56 and A62 closures continue as before.
