National Highways has confirmed a series of planned overnight closures on Greater Manchester's motorways and nearby routes from Monday, 10 August to Thursday, 13 August. Sections of the M6, M60, M62, M56, M61, and A34 will be affected, along with other roads.
Long-term closures
A long-term closure is in place on the A56 southbound at the Bent Gate exit slip road until midnight on August 31. The A62 is closed in both directions from Gildersome to the Northern roundabout until October 31.
Monday, 10 August
On Monday, closures include the M56 westbound between Jct 14 and A494 Park Gate (21:00-05:00), M6 southbound Jct 6 to Jct 5 (21:00-06:00), M60 clockwise Jct 1 to 3 (21:00-06:00), M61 northbound Jct 4 to 5 (21:00-06:00), M62 eastbound Jct 35 to M18 southbound Jct 7 (20:00-06:00), and M67 eastbound Jct 3 to 4 (20:00-06:00). Multiple slip road closures are also scheduled.
Tuesday, 11 August
Tuesday sees the M6 northbound Jct 31 to 32 carriageway closure (22:00-06:00), M60 clockwise Jct 11 exit and entry slip roads (21:00-06:00), M62 eastbound Jct 31 exit and entry slip roads (20:00-06:00), and M66 northbound Jct 1 to A56 Edenfield carriageway closure (23:00-06:00). The M67 eastbound Jct 3 to 4 closure continues.
Wednesday, 12 August
Wednesday includes M6 northbound to M62 westbound link road closure (21:00-06:00), M60 anticlockwise Jct 23 entry slip road closure (21:00-06:00), M61 northbound Jct 4 to 5 carriageway closure (21:00-06:00), and M62 eastbound Jct 33 exit and entry slip roads (20:00-06:00).
Thursday, 13 August
Thursday features M6 northbound Jct 27 to 28 carriageway closure (23:00-06:00), M60 anticlockwise Jct 24 to 23 carriageway closure (22:00-06:00), M61 southbound Jct 6 entry and exit slip roads (21:00-05:00), and M62 eastbound Jct 7 entry slip road closure (20:00-06:00).
