Glasgow Drivers Warned: Road Closures for Pride July 18

Drivers travelling through Glasgow city centre on Saturday, July 18, are being urged to plan ahead after a series of road closures and traffic restrictions were introduced for the city's annual Pride celebrations. Thousands of people are expected to gather in the Merchant City for a day of events, with a colourful Pride march set to make its way from Glasgow Green into the city centre. The popular event is expected to draw large crowds throughout the day, resulting in significant disruptions for drivers and public transport.

Road Closures and Restrictions

A number of key streets have been closed to traffic to allow the march and celebrations to take place safely. Bus routes are also expected to be affected as revellers make their way through the city centre. Glasgow City Council confirmed the temporary restrictions are being introduced "for the safety of the event and other road users." The restrictions remain in force until midnight on Saturday, July 18, and apply to all vehicles except emergency service crews and those that have been granted special permission by Glasgow City Council's events team.
