Motability Scheme users have been encouraged to download a free app that provides quick access to breakdown assistance. The RAC app offers a fast way to get help if a vehicle breaks down, with support available at the tap of a button.
According to the Motability Scheme website, all vehicles leased through the scheme are covered by RAC Motability Assist for breakdown assistance throughout the lease period. The RAC states that using its app is the quickest way to request help in the event of a breakdown.
In a YouTube video shared on the Motability Scheme account, RAC Breakdown spokesperson Simon Williams explained the process to Motability Scheme ambassador Mark Ormrod. Williams outlined three simple steps: download the app, enter your email address, and tap the rescue warning triangle icon to report the breakdown. The app recognises existing Motability Scheme online accounts, streamlining the setup.
Williams emphasised that users who report a breakdown via the app receive the same priority as those who call in. The app also offers additional features, such as finding the cheapest fuel prices and accessing motoring advice.
Motability Scheme users should note that the breakdown service covers only their Scheme vehicle and does not extend to any other vehicle they may travel in.
