A man has died following a motorbike collision near Heathrow Airport on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred close to Terminal 4 at around 8am, prompting the closure of Southern Perimeter Road for over six hours.
Emergency services, including the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, and London Fire Brigade, attended the scene. The man, believed to be in his 40s, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
Southern Perimeter Road was shut in both directions between Sealand Road and Beacon Road, near Beacon Roundabout. The road reopened later in the afternoon.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the man's family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers. A police spokesperson said: 'At around 8:00hrs on Wednesday, 4 February officers were called to a single vehicle collision involving a motorbike and a barrier on Sealand Road, near Heathrow Airport.'
The London Ambulance Service added: 'We were called today at 7.58am to reports of a road traffic collision on the Southern Perimeter Road of Heathrow Airport. Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.'
