Eurostar has announced that several trains, including services from London, are facing severe delays on Tuesday following an incident near the tracks in Lille Europe. The operator warned customers that trains between London and Lille, Brussels, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam are expected to be subject to significant disruption.
Emergency Services Attend Incident
The disruption is due to emergency services attending an incident near the tracks in Lille Europe, Eurostar confirmed. The operator stated that it is awaiting an update from the railway network manager to determine how journeys may be affected. Travellers impacted by the delays have been offered the option to exchange their tickets for free to travel at a different time or date.
Passengers Report Delays on Social Media
Several passengers have taken to social media to report travel disruption. One X user wrote at approximately 12:40pm: "Eurostar on the ES 9014 9:31am from London to Paris and been stationary on the train at Lille for over 1hr 30 mins and getting v little info about when our journey will continue." Eurostar replied: "Hello Haf, we're very sorry for the delay to your journey today - this is due to an incident at Lille-Europe which the emergency services are attending. We're awaiting an update from the railway network manager to work out how your journey may be affected."
Some users claimed their train from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord had also been impacted. The operator continues to provide updates as the situation develops.
