At least 31 people have died and 33 others were injured after a passenger bus plunged into a ravine in northern Ethiopia, police confirmed. The accident occurred in the Amhara region as the bus traveled from Dessie to the capital, Addis Ababa.

Commander Getachew Muhiye stated that the crash took place in the morning on a road leading to Kombolcha. The vehicle tumbled off a cliff, killing 31 individuals, including the driver, and leaving 33 others with injuries of varying severity. The death toll was initially reported as 28.
Emergency Response
Injured victims are receiving treatment at hospitals in Dessie and Kombolcha. Images released by the regional government's communication bureau show an S-shaped stretch of road called Harego "S," where the incident occurred, along with the wrecked bus.
