easyJet Confirms Early Check-In Rule at 9 UK Airports for Morning Flights
easyJet Early Check-In Rule at 9 UK Airports

easyJet has confirmed an early check-in rule for passengers with early morning flights, enabling them to check in and drop bags off the night before at nine UK airports. The budget airline's twilight service allows passengers to beat the rush at airport check-in desks by dropping off their hold luggage the evening before departure, bypassing long queues on travel day.

Passengers can use the service free of charge during specified hours across nine major UK airports, though parking charges are determined by local airport rules. The service means travelers can head straight to security on departure day, having already checked in and dropped their luggage.

Expansion to Birmingham Airport

The service was expanded in January this year to include Birmingham Airport for all passengers on early morning flights departing before 9am, with bag drop available between 4pm and 8pm the day before. Customers also receive discounted parking for one hour in the airport's Premium Set Down car park by presenting their bag drop baggage receipt upon exit.

Announcing the launch, Kevin Doyle, easyJet's UK Country Manager, said: "We are always looking for new ways to make travel as easy as possible, so we are really pleased to be introducing our free Twilight Bag Drop service for our customers flying from Birmingham Airport." He added: "As families head off on their next holiday or are planning one to look forward to, whether that's hitting the slopes, soaking up some winter sun or a fun-filled half-term or Easter break, we remain focused on offering greater choice and exceptional value across our unrivalled short-haul network, always aiming to make travel easy."

How to Use the Twilight Service

To use easyJet's twilight service, passengers with eligible morning flights simply need to visit the airline's Bag Drop area during specified hours at their departure airport the night before. Passengers must check in online or via the easyJet mobile app before arriving at the airport and must bring their passport and boarding passes. The airline also allows passengers to drop bags on behalf of someone on the same booking, and bags are stored safely overnight in a restricted zone at the airport.

easyJet stated: "The evening before your flight, take your bags to the airport and drop them at the easyJet Bag Drop area. Don't forget to bring your boarding passes and passports. Then when it's time to fly, simply breeze through the airport - feeling fresh and ready for your flight."
