In an important update released earlier this month, easyJet highlighted that airports may experience extended waiting times at passport control as the new EES border checks are rolled out. The airline stated, "Airports across Europe may experience longer queues at passport control whilst the new European Entry/Exit System (EES) border checks are being completed. This will mean you may need to have your biometrics taken including your face and fingerprints scanned."
Passengers are strongly advised to plan their travel carefully, factoring in additional time for potential queues. easyJet recommends that travellers using Bag Drop services do so as soon as they open and ensure all necessary documents are readily available.
Travel Tips to Mitigate Delays
To help minimise disruptions, easyJet urges passengers to proceed through security as early as possible and head to the gate or boarding area promptly once announced. The airline also noted that there might be extra checks at passport control before reaching the gate, adding, "You may experience longer queues in your arrival airport."
