EasyJet has unveiled a significant expansion plan for passengers, introducing six new routes and launching a new operational base in Marrakech, Morocco. This move, described as a 'milestone' by the budget airline, aims to enhance travel options and boost local economies.
Major Expansion for EasyJet Passengers
The airline confirmed that it will start offering six new routes, including two key connections between the United Kingdom and Morocco. This development is part of a broader strategy to increase accessibility and choice for travellers across Europe and North Africa.
New Marrakech Base and Job Creation
This month, easyJet officially opened its new three-aircraft base in Marrakech, Morocco. This initiative is expected to generate approximately 100 new jobs, contributing to the local economy through tourism and employment opportunities. The base launch coincides with the announcement of six new routes to Morocco for the upcoming winter season.
Details of the New Routes
The new winter routes now on sale include:
- Prague to Marrakech, operating from 25 October, twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays.
- Newcastle to Marrakech, starting 3 November 2026, twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
- Zurich to Marrakech, commencing 28 October 2026, twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Additional routes set to go on sale later this spring are:
- Nantes to Essaouira.
- Bordeaux to Agadir.
- Birmingham to Agadir.
These additions bring easyJet's total number of routes to Morocco to 58, with 30 specifically serving Marrakech.
Summer Route Launches
EasyJet is also introducing new routes this summer, including:
- Hamburg to Marrakech, launching 1 May 2026, twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays, with year-round operation planned.
- Lille to Marrakech, operating from 3 May 2026, twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays.
- Strasbourg to Marrakech, starting 3 May 2026, twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.
- Geneva to Tangier, commencing 30 March 2026, twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays.
