Commuters faced serious disruption on Monday morning after three fire alerts at different stations caused severe delays on the London Overground, Central line, and Northern line. The alerts all occurred before 7:30am, affecting services between Stratford, Clapham Junction, and Richmond, as well as Queensway and Morden.
Transport for London reported severe delays between Abbey Wood and Whitechapel on the Elizabeth line, along with minor delays between Whitechapel and Shenfield due to a faulty train at Custom House. A vehicle striking a bridge near London Victoria also caused delays on the Gatwick Express and trains to Brighton around 3pm.
By late afternoon, most Tube lines and the Overground were running a good service, though minor delays persisted on the District line between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway, and on the Central line eastbound due to a faulty train at Leytonstone. Step-free access was unavailable at Wembley Central due to a faulty lift.
The Croydon Tramlink continued to face disruption as Unite union strike action reduced services all week, affecting fans heading to Wimbledon. Meanwhile, a fire near the track at Hackney Central caused cancellations and delays of up to 35 minutes on Overground trains between Dalston and Hackney Central.
