A double-decker bus went up in flames on the East Lancs Road in Norris Green on Friday (July 3) afternoon. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) were called to the scene at the junction of Lower House Lane and East Lancashire Road around 4.25pm.

Emergency Response and Evacuation

Three fire engines attended to extinguish the blaze on the double-decker bus. The bus driver and passengers were evacuated safely, and no injuries have been reported, the fire service confirmed.

Witness Footage Shows Flames and Smoke

A video of the blaze, shared with the ECHO, shows a red double-decker Happy Al's bus on fire. Flames can be seen emanating from the back of the bus, with thick black smoke billowing into the air.

Fire Extinguished, No Traffic Delays

The fire has since been extinguished, and no traffic delays are reported in the area.
