Emergency services have been called to a crash on the A48 in Carmarthenshire, causing long delays on the M4 and A48.

Road closed westbound

The collision happened on the westbound side of the A48 dual carriageway near Pont Abraham. The road is connected to the M4 at Pont Abraham Roundabout, causing delays on both the motorway and the A48 heading west towards Cross Hands.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported: "A48 Westbound closed due to an accident from M4 J49 (Pont Abraham Roundabout) to A476. Congestion to Junction 48 (Hendy / Llaneli)."

Traffic Wales posted on X: "Road closed westbound at the moment. Emergency services present. Delays in the area. Allow additional time for your journey."

Queuing traffic has been reported near the Pont Abraham roundabout in Carmarthenshire on Saturday afternoon.
