Chessington World of Adventures forced to close over water outage

Chessington World of Adventures has been forced to close for the day due to a water outage. The theme park announced the closure on its website, stating that all tickets booked for today will be automatically revalidated under its Return Promise, allowing guests to visit on a future date.

Water outage caused by burst main

Thames Water reported a burst water main affecting the KT9 area, which includes the park. Repairs are underway, but the park will remain closed for the rest of the day.

In a statement, Chessington said: "Due to a water outage in the local area affecting our operations, Chessington is closed today. All tickets booked for today will be automatically revalidated under our Return Promise and can be used on a future date. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding."

Impact on visitors

The closure is likely to affect hundreds of families and groups who had planned to visit the park, which welcomes around 1.5 million visitors a year. The Return Promise is designed to offer flexibility in case of unexpected closures.
