Carmarthenshire Road Closed for Six Weeks, Buses Cancelled

The B4317 Capel Ifan Road in Pontyberem, Carmarthenshire, will be closed from Monday, July 20, for six weeks, causing disruption for drivers and bus passengers until September. The closure is essential for the permanent installation of traffic signals that were previously temporary, according to Carmarthenshire Council.

Diversions and Bus Service Changes

A fully signed diversion route will be in place via the B4306, B4309, and B4317, with pedestrian and vehicular access to individual properties maintained throughout the closure. First Cymru will operate a temporary bus service, the 195A shuttle, to provide connections in Pontiets with services serving Maengwynne, Five Roads, and Cynheidre.

However, the direct bus service between Pontyberem and Ponthenri will be cancelled for the duration of the works. Service 195 will operate between Llanelli and Carmarthen via Pontyberem and Llannon, while service 197 will divert via Ponthenri.
