Drivers in Cardiff will face traffic disruption as urgent maintenance is carried out on a key route for six days later this month. The A4232 northbound will undergo urgent repairs and maintenance in mid-October.
Closure details and dates
The key route towards the M4 junction at Capel Llanilltern will be closed or restricted at various times from Friday, October 16, to Thursday, October 22. The affected stretch of road runs from Leckwith Bridge to Culverhouse Cross.
The road will be closed or restricted in the evenings, with a full-day closure scheduled for Sunday, October 18. A diversion will instead take drivers via Leckwith Road, Atlas Road, Lansdowne Road and Cowbridge Road.
Ongoing roadworks across the city
A number of roadworks are already taking place in other areas around the city. Work is ongoing on Castle Street, where efforts are focused on making the temporary road layout and cycleway permanent, and work on the Cardiff Crossrail network has caused slightly heavier congestion around Callaghan Square.
Five-month-long roadworks have also begun on Lamby Way in Rumney to allow for significant flood prevention works.
