Passengers flying with budget airlines such as Ryanair and easyJet are being urged to avoid packing three specific items in their hand luggage to avoid extra fees. Matthew Corrigan, CEO of Trtl Travel, advises leaving behind hairdryers, towels, and toiletries, as most accommodations provide these.
Corrigan warns that airlines are cracking down on hand luggage, and packing strategically can maximise space and avoid charges. He suggests wearing bulky items like coats and jumpers onto the plane instead of packing them, freeing up space and keeping passengers warm.
Ryanair also reminds passengers that if they have purchased a check-in bag, they must drop it at the bag desk; bringing it to the boarding gate incurs a fee or risks being denied boarding.
