TransPennine Express (TPE) is set to introduce a new timetable from May 17, aiming to enhance connectivity for passengers. The updated schedule will include a new all-night train service operating between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport.
New All-Night Service
This new service will comprise eight additional trains, providing hourly connections to the airport terminals throughout the night. This is expected to significantly improve accessibility for late-night travellers and early-morning flights.
Additional Changes
TPE will also add an extra weekday stop at Dewsbury on the 8.05am Leeds to Manchester Piccadilly service, offering more options for commuters. Furthermore, to support the Edinburgh Fringe festival, TPE plans to run two extra daily services from 3 August to 4 September, ensuring festival-goers have greater flexibility.
These enhancements are part of TPE's commitment to improving rail services and meeting passenger demand. The new timetable represents a significant step forward in connecting Manchester city centre with its airport, a key transport hub.
