A46 Crash Kills Young Man and Woman Near Coventry

A young man and woman have died in a serious collision on the A46 near Coventry. Warwickshire Police confirmed the pair were killed after the vehicle they were travelling in left the road for unknown reasons and crashed on the southbound carriageway between the A45 near Coventry and Stoneleigh Island.

Victims Yet to Be Identified

The victims have not been formally identified, but police stated the man was aged in his 30s and the woman in her 20s. The incident occurred on 1 July at approximately 6:31am, when officers were called to the scene.

A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said: 'For unknown reasons, the driver of a red SEAT car left the road. A man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s sadly died at the scene.'

Road Closure and Investigation

The southbound carriageway was closed for around eight hours following the crash to allow for emergency services and investigation work. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
