The A1 in Northumberland has reopened in both directions following a serious collision that closed the route overnight. National Highways confirmed the road is now accessible between the A6105 at Berwick-upon-Tweed and the A1107 at Eyemouth, just before the morning rush hour.
The crash occurred at around 9pm on Wednesday, prompting a full closure of the A-road near the England-Scotland border. Emergency crews attended the scene, and the road remained shut to allow police to conduct an investigation.
Traffic Scotland also confirmed the reopening on the Scottish side of the border. Motorists experienced no delays following the reopening, providing relief for commuters travelling between England and Scotland.
