The A1 in Lincolnshire is closed northbound between the B1174 near Grantham and the B6326 near Newark-on-Trent following a collision involving an overturned lorry in the early hours of this morning. The incident was reported to National Highways at 01:01am, with Lincolnshire Police and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service attending the scene. The road was closed at 02:24am to allow for a complex recovery operation that has continued throughout the night. As of 09:00, specialist teams are on site to assess a diesel spillage, further complicating the clean-up.

An RAC update notes that traffic is 'coping well' despite the closure. The A1 northbound remains shut from the B1174 Great North Road at Marston Turn Off to Valley Lane at Long Bennington.
