Tennent's Makes Historic US Delivery as Tartan Army Fans Fear Beer Shortage
Tennent's Historic US Delivery for Tartan Army Fans

Tennent's lager has made a historic delivery to the United States, ensuring Scotland fans in Boston remain well hydrated as the Tartan Army celebrates the nation's return to world football after 28 years.

Massive Fan Presence in Boston

Around 50,000 Scots have descended on the city, with many pubs reporting beer stocks running dry following celebrations over John McGinn's goal that secured a 1-0 victory against Haiti on Saturday.

To address the demand, Tennent's Lager is now stocked in 76 venues across Boston, a significant increase from its previous availability only at The Haven, a Scottish pub. The Haven placed the largest ever order of Tennent's in US history to mark the occasion.

Pub Owner's Perspective

Jason Waddleton, owner of The Haven and a proud Scot, said: "While it’s maybe been a surprise to some Bostonians, we knew the Scots were going to come along, sing, make friends and have a great party – and what goes perfectly with all of that? A great pint of Tennent’s. And it really was a Tennent’s weekend like no other!"

He added: "We've been the only bar in town to serve it for 16 years and now, we're seeing it across the city and I think that's wonderful. We planned accordingly, we’re currently on track and we're ready for Morocco. So, come on down, enjoy the haven, and let's grab a pint and a point on Friday!"

Local Reactions

Boston locals Jay Howard, 45, and Ed Murray, 32, enjoyed a beer from The Haven's record stock of Tennent's, served by Scot Megan MacKay, 32, and piper Iain MacGillivray. Jay said: "We’ve loved getting to know our new kilted neighbours over a pint and the lager is brilliant. There’s something special about it. I’m not sure why, maybe the Scottish water, but I think we’re going to need to get over the Atlantic and visit there soon to try it on their home soil."

Expansion to Miami

While Boston continues to welcome more Scots ahead of Friday's match against Morocco, Miami is also preparing for a Tartan invasion. Thirsty fans will be able to find Tennent's there as well, with stocks in venues including Miami Beach and Miami Springs.

Brand Manager's Comments

Hazel Alexander, Senior Brand Manager at Tennent’s, said: "The demand for Tennent’s in the US has been unprecedented and our teams are working round the clock to make sure pubs are restocked as quickly as possible. We’ve been planning for this since December and made sure we had plenty of Tennent’s in the US before the big World Cup kick-off, so we’re confident that supplies will continue to meet the demand."

Fans can use the Tennent’s Pint Finder to locate stockists across the Boston and Florida areas.
