Reports indicate that Hoffenheim had an option to trigger a £6.8 million buy clause, including add-ons, which would also have included a potential buy-back for Dortmund. Although he struggled during his time in the Bundesliga, the USA youth international still attracts serious interest and has two years remaining on his contract with the German giants.
