A small village in Northumberland has been revealed as home to England's best hidden gem beach, according to outdoor experts Millets. Embleton Bay, with its white sands and clear waters, has been compared to Caribbean beaches and praised for its unspoiled beauty.
Located near the village of Embleton, the beach is backed by dunes and overlooked by the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. Visitors have described it as 'perfection in the form of solitude' and a 'must-visit' on TripAdvisor. The bay is accessible via the Northumberland Coastal Route, though it may be challenging for those with mobility issues.
One holidaymaker called it 'probably one of the most beautiful bays anywhere in the world', while another highlighted its dog-friendly nature and stunning views. The area is also popular with birdwatchers due to the nearby Newton Pool Bird Reserve.
Embleton Bay beat out other scenic spots in Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire, and Yorkshire to claim the top spot in Millets' ranking of hidden gems. The experts noted its quiet, unspoiled character and peaceful escape from crowds.
