A UK-based travel company that arranged journeys for thousands of pilgrims has gone into liquidation after 22 years of operation. Yourtravelshop.com Ltd, based in Ilford, entered voluntary winding-up with liquidators appointed on 21 July. Donald Harper and Andrew Maak of The Insolvency Practice Limited were named joint liquidators.
Company background and trips
The firm had been operating under the name yourtravelshop.com Ltd since 2004, according to Companies House. Its website stated it had organised Hajj, Umrah and Ziyarat journeys for over 35 years. Before services were suspended, prices for the sacred trips to Islam ranged from £1,200 to £1,875. No new trips are listed on the company’s website, though it is unclear whether any previously planned journeys have been cancelled.
The business is registered under travel agency activities. The last publicly available financial documents date from 19 October 2025.
Wider industry difficulties
Yourtravelshop.com is the latest travel agency to enter liquidation this year. In June, Strachan Travel Ltd, based in Lancashire, entered voluntary liquidation after 40 years. It recorded winding-up resolutions on 11 June and appointed liquidators on 16 June. Groupia Ltd, along with its subsidiaries including StagWeb and GoHen, also entered administration on 16 June, halting all new bookings.
