New data from relocation experts 1st Move International has revealed the top ten countries where Brits have relocated between 2022 and 2024. The study highlights a diverse range of destinations, with traditional hotspots like Australia and Canada still popular, but also a growing interest in less conventional places.
The United States tops the list, attracting Brits with its opportunities and diverse lifestyle options. Over 96.3 million TikTok videos tagged 'British person living in America' reflect its appeal. Popular destinations include New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, as well as suburban and rural areas.
Australia ranks second, favoured for its lack of a language barrier, warm climate, and beautiful beaches. The country offers a high quality of life and numerous career opportunities, with a friendly atmosphere and outdoor lifestyle.
Surprisingly, only one European country made the top ten, indicating a trend towards more distant locations. The shift reflects changing preferences influenced by economic opportunities, lifestyle choices, and cultural attractions.
