Southport Airshow returns this weekend, with thousands of spectators expected to gather on the seafront for two days of aerial displays. The Red Arrows will perform after missing the 2025 event.
The show runs on Saturday, August 29 and Sunday August 30, with gates opening at 10am and displays scheduled from around 12pm to 5pm. Car parks open at 9am.
Aircraft and ground attractions
Confirmed aircraft for both days include the Red Arrows, the BBMF Dakota, Spitfire and Hurricane, the RAF Tutor T1, Jet Pitts flown by Rich Goodwin, AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers, The Starlings Display Team, the Strikemaster Display Team, the Gazelle Squadron, the Hawk T1, Otto the Helicopter, the A26 Invader and the P-51 Mustang 'Jersey Jerk'.
On the ground, the Military Village on Marine Drive will host equipment displays from the Armed Forces, with members of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force present, along with the local Air Cadets. Children's activities include bungee trampolines, bumper cars and Hook-a-Duck, while aviation fans can view replica planes and try flight simulators.
Tickets and travel
Tickets cost £13 plus booking fee, with children under 16 admitted free. Groups of 10 or more pay £12 per person. Tickets are available online via the Visit Southport website or on the day at the box office.
The nearest train station is Southport, a 10-minute walk from the event. Drivers can use postcode PR8 1RU, but road closures mean motorists should follow event signs rather than sat nav. Parking is available on Marine Drive, Princes Park, the Esplanade car park and Victoria Park, with the latter a five-minute walk from the seafront. Accessible hard-standing spaces are at the Esplanade and Marine Drive car parks, with grass spaces in Princes Park and Victoria Park; accessible spots are allocated first come, first served on presentation of a blue disability badge. Parking costs £10 per car per day, payable on the day.
