FC Thun, the newly-crowned Swiss champions, have expressed a strong interest in Rangers winger Ross McCausland. The Northern Ireland international is set to return to Ibrox after a season-long loan at Cypriot club Aris Limassol.
Champions League Bound
Thun are preparing for a crack at the Champions League qualifiers after a dramatic rise that saw them win promotion and then the Swiss Super League in their first season in the top tier. McCausland is one of the players they would like to strengthen their squad.
The 23-year-old also has other options in Europe and Major League Soccer. He spent the whole of last season away from Rangers on loan at Aris Limassol, where he made a significant impact.
Loan Details
Aris had an option to buy McCausland, but the player asked for it not to be triggered. He still has a year left on his Rangers contract and is scheduled to return to Ibrox for pre-season in the summer.
McCausland came through the Ibrox ranks after joining from Linfield. He already has more than 50 top-team appearances for Rangers and has scored some big goals in European competitions.
Rangers are continuing to look at options for their academy graduate as they plan for the upcoming season.
