Pleasurewood Hills, a family theme park near Lowestoft in Suffolk, has been crowned 'Theme Park of the Year' for under 1 million visitors in this year's UK Theme Park Awards, presented by AttractionTickets.com.
The park, located near the Suffolk coast between Corton and Gunton, is the biggest theme park in East Anglia and features 30 rides and attractions across its 59-acre site. Highlights include the wild mouse roller coaster Marble Madness, the Jolly Roger drop tower, and the water flume ride Water Fun Factory.

Other attractions include Woody's Wheel, the Flying Elephants, the pirate ship Shiver me Timbers, the Egg-Spress and Wavebreaker, and a waterslide. Visitors can also watch sealion or bird shows, visit the indoor soft play area Woody's Cub House, take a drive in a safari car, and ride the carousel or Woodland Express.
The park's flagship roller coaster, Wipeout, stands more than 130ft high and features a twisting, turning, looping and rolling track before reversing for what the park describes as the "ultimate backwards thrill". However, the ride is currently closed after breaking down over the summer, leaving riders stuck on board for up to three hours. It is expected to reopen by the end of October.
Award based on public votes
Following the award, one of the park's owners, Freddy Stokes, said the 'Theme Park of the Year' title was not something "we were expecting to win". The UK Theme Park Awards were based on public votes held prior to the issues with the Wipeout ride.
Pleasurewood Hills is open from 10am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday during off-peak seasons, and additionally opens Monday to Friday during the October half-term, with opening times varying. The park will close for the season on Sunday, 1 November, with an opening date for 2027 yet to be confirmed.
Online tickets start from £16 per person, while tickets purchased on the door cost from £29 per person.
