Oreo has announced the launch of a new limited-edition flavor just in time for summer. The cookie brand, owned by Mondelēz International, will release Oreo Firecracker Pop in stores across the United States starting May 4.
Inspired by a Classic Summer Treat
The new flavor draws inspiration from the iconic red, white, and blue firecracker ice pop. Instead of the traditional chocolate cookie, the Firecracker Pop Oreos feature two golden cookies sandwiching a trio of cremes: blue raspberry, lemon, and cherry. This combination aims to evoke nostalgia for warm-weather celebrations.
Oreo described the new offering in a press release as "a blast of summertime nostalgia and a burst of flavor," adding that it was "inspired by the delicious frozen treat we all know and love." The cookies will be available for a limited time while supplies last.
A Growing Line of Limited-Edition Flavors
The Firecracker Pop joins a roster of unconventional Oreo flavors. Earlier this year, Oreo introduced an online-only Dill Pickle-flavored cookie, sold exclusively on its website in six-packs for $9.99. Customer reviews were mixed: one fan urged Oreo to "definitely consider dropping these full time," calling it "the craziest flavor Oreo has ever done," while another critic wrote, "Eww not good should definitely stick to original n drop this."
In 2025, Oreo released a Thanksgiving Dinner Cookie Tin featuring flavors like Pumpkin Pie, Caramel Apple Pie, Cranberry Sauce, Sweet Potato, Creamed Corn, and even Turkey and Stuffing. The brand also collaborated with Reese's on two products: a revived Oreo cookie variant with Reese's peanut butter filling (made permanent in early 2026) and the Reese's Oreo Cup, which replaced the chocolate exterior with Oreo's milk chocolate and white creme, now a permanent addition to the Reese's lineup.
