A new ferry link will connect the UK seaside town of Shoreham in West Sussex to Fécamp in Normandy, France, starting in September. The pilot project runs from September 8 to 13 and offers a unique cross-Channel experience.
Details of the service
The journey takes approximately eight hours from Shoreham Port to Fécamp. Each sailing will carry up to 12 passengers. Tickets for the pilot project go on sale on August 1, with one-way fares starting from £220 and return journeys from £440.
The service retraces the voyage of Charles II, who reached Fécamp from Shoreham in 1651.
Eco-friendly sailing
SailLink, an eco-friendly passenger sailing service for foot passengers and cyclists, has partnered with award-winning sailor Michel Desjoyeaux, who will personally skipper each trip. Desjoyeaux hopes to prove that regular wind-powered crossings can become a practical alternative to traditional cross-Channel ferries.
