A dream family holiday at a beloved British resort turned into a disgusting nightmare for one mother, who was forced to flee Butlin's after a horrifying find in her room's kettle.
Jade Mace, from Kent, had booked a five-night stay at the Butlin's resort in Bognor Regis for her family. Their getaway was shattered almost immediately upon checking into the "filthy" and "sticky" apartment, which was littered with leftover food and rubbish from previous guests.
The final straw came when Jade went to make a cup of tea. Peering into the kettle, she made a stomach-churning discovery: it was filled with what appeared to be used, soggy teabags and murky, stagnant water. The appalling find sent her and her young family packing just hours after they had arrived.
"We Had to Get Out": A Family's Swift Exit
"It was absolutely vile," Jade recounted. "The room was clearly not cleaned properly. Finding that in the kettle was the last thing we could take. We felt we had to get out of there for our own health and safety."
The family made the swift decision to abandon their holiday entirely, sacrificing the hundreds of pounds they had spent on the break. They immediately drove back home, their much-anticipated vacation ruined.

After Jade shared her experience and photos of the squalid conditions on social media, Butlin's issued a response. A spokesperson for the resort chain apologised "unreservedly" for the family's experience, admitting the cleanliness of the room had fallen far short of their usual standards.
The company confirmed that the specific apartment has been removed from availability for a deep clean and inspection. Butlin's has processed a full refund for the distressed family.
