Mum's Holiday Nightmare: £1,000 Haven Trip Cancelled Over 'Disgusting' Conditions
Mum abandons £1k Haven holiday over filthy conditions

A family's dream holiday turned into a nightmare when they were forced to abandon their £1,000 Haven break due to 'disgusting' conditions in their caravan.

Mum-of-three Jade Young, 30, claims she was left horrified after discovering dirt, mould, and even a used plaster in their supposedly clean accommodation at Haven's Devon Cliffs resort in Exmouth.

'I felt physically sick'

'The moment we walked in, I felt physically sick,' Jade told The Mirror. 'There was dirt everywhere, mould in the bathroom, and we even found a used plaster stuck to the wall. It was absolutely vile.'

The distressed mum immediately complained to staff but says she was offered nothing more than cleaning supplies to tackle the mess herself.

Family forced to abandon holiday

After just one sleepless night in the 'filthy' caravan, Jade made the difficult decision to cut their holiday short and drive the 200-mile journey back home to Swindon.

'We'd saved up all year for this holiday, and it was completely ruined,' Jade said. 'My kids were devastated, and I'm furious that Haven thinks this standard of accommodation is acceptable.'

Haven responds to complaints

A Haven spokesperson said: 'We're sorry to hear about this guest's experience. We take all complaints seriously and are investigating this matter with our park team.'

The company has offered Jade a partial refund, but she's demanding full compensation for their ruined holiday.

This incident comes amid growing complaints about UK holiday parks, with many families reporting similar issues post-pandemic.
