The luxury glamping site two hours from Manchester where there's a hot tub with every hut. There's also a pool, a play area and a cafe which delivers food to your door.
We love a good camping trip, but let's be honest, the UK weather doesn't always make for a relaxing stay under the canvas. That's why glamping has become an increasingly popular option for those wanting a little more luxury.
One place offering exactly that is Love2Stay Mid Wales - an award-winning luxury glamping destination in the heart of the unspoiled Welsh countryside.
It was there I headed for a weekend away with my teenage daughter and despite fearing the 100-mile trip to Caersws in Powys might take up most of Friday afternoon, we were actually there in little more than two hours.
There's a range of accommodation on the site, from cosy Shepherd Huts sleeping two people, to spacious bespoke lodges for up 10 guests and our home for the weekend was a family lodge on the edge of the park offering spectacular views over the green landscape below.
Our lodge wasn't huge, but with a double bed, a sofa bed and two smaller beds in a mezzanine - which would be suitable for younger children - there was ample space for the two of us. And it was equipped with everything we could need for a comfortable stay, including a stylish kitchen with a microwave, hob and fridge freezer; a modern bathroom, central heating and a large TV.
Of course having our own hot tub to enjoy was the icing on the cake and that's something every accommodation comes with here as standard - even with the smaller Shepherd Huts, which cost from £65 a night. The only exception is the Infinity Retreat Lodge, which sleeps eight people and has its own private heated pool and sauna.
And if that's not enough of a relaxing treat, there's also an indoor pool with its own steam room and sauna, as well as a fitness suite and a spa where treatments can be booked.
Next to the main reception area is a cafe serving up all kinds of meals and snacks and it's from here where you can get food delivered straight to your lodge. While we'd taken most of our food with us, it was too tempting not to try out the service and the breakfast we ordered arrived still steaming hot and immaculately presented given its journey. The prices - £12.95 for a classic breakfast and £6.50 for a breakfast bap - were pretty reasonable too and well worth it for the convenience.
Love2Stay Mid Wales is one of those places where you can do as little or as much as you like. And you can take your dog along too, with a dedicated dog exercising area available. While we spent much of our time in our swimsuits - either at the pool or in our tub - there are activities you can book on to, including archery, as well as paddle boarding and kayaking on the on-site lake. There's also a basketball court and a large well equipped playground with climbing frames, slides and swings.
Just an hour away from Aberystwyth, it was also ideal for making a day trip to the seaside town which we visited for the first time, taking a trip on the Cliff Railway, the longest funicular electric cliff railway in Britain. And there are loads more attractions and things to do nearby too including Devil's Bridge, Powis Castle and King Arthur's Labyrinth - an underground storytelling adventure where you travel through tunnels and caves and board a boat.
There's another Love2Stay site just a few miles from the Welsh border in Shrewsbury, which has similar glamping accommodation and accommodates touring caravans, campervans, motorhomes and trailer tents. If it's anything like the Caersws one, it's definitely worth a trip this summer.
Emma Gill stayed in a Family Getaway Lodge at Love2Stay Mid Wales, with prices starting from £73 per night for five people. Love2Stay offers glamping and touring adventures in Caersws, Mid Wales and in Shrewsbury. To find out more, or to book, visit the website here. You can also book a stay via Hoseasons which has offers running including discounts for Blue Light Card holders.
