Fox Sports has launched a search for a 'Chief World Cup Watcher' ahead of this summer's World Cup, offering a $50,000 salary for the successful candidate to watch all 104 matches. The role, described as the ultimate summer job, is a collaboration with the employment platform Indeed.
Role and Responsibilities
The chosen individual will be stationed in a specially designed glass cube in New York City's Times Square. From this unique vantage point, they will be required to view every minute of the tournament's games on Fox One, the official streaming service for the 2026 World Cup. In addition to watching the matches, the Chief World Cup Watcher will create and share social media content, transforming each game into a live viewing event for the thousands of tourists and commuters passing through the iconic location.
Fox Sports and Indeed have described the position as 'the best summer job on the market, but only for one wild fan who is up to the once-in-a-lifetime task.'
Application Process
Applications for this unique opportunity are open via Indeed. The winner will be announced on 6 June during Fox's broadcast of the Major League Baseball game between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.
