As October approaches, the UK braces for cloudy skies and cooler temperatures, but several overseas destinations continue to offer warmth and sunshine. With children back in school and the Christmas period still distant, this month presents an affordable opportunity for an autumn getaway.
Southern European cities like Seville and Valletta remain pleasantly warm with little rainfall, while countries in the southern hemisphere are entering their summer season. Daily highs in Seville reach 26°C, ideal for exploring Moorish landmarks such as the Real Alcazar palace and the Gothic cathedral. Valletta, a Unesco World Heritage Site, enjoys highs of 25°C and hosts the Notte Bianca festival on 4 October.
Further afield, Honolulu in Hawaii offers temperatures of 29°C, with beaches like Waikiki and Lanikai providing stunning white sands. Sardinia, with average highs of 24°C, is another top choice for autumn sun, featuring warm waters and picturesque towns such as Alghero and Bosa, along with national parks like Asinara and Gennargentu.
