A customer at Loafi Bakehouse in Ramsbottom waited until the end of a 4,700-mile journey to the US before eating a tray of four custard tarts. The pastries were collected by a regular customer named Ryan shortly before he travelled to the airport, and were later shared with friends in Portland, Oregon.
Journey to Portland
Loafi Bakehouse wrote in a post on Instagram on Thursday (September 24): "Last week one of our ace regulars Ryan asked Stuart to box up four custard tarts for collection at 8.10am. A rather specific time but it turns out it was just before he got his taxi to the airport."
The post continued: "Under Ryan's stewardship they arrived safely 4,741 miles away in Portland, Oregon and were later shared with friends. Mega!" One person commented on the social media post: "That is self control beyond belief!"
