Coronation Street's Cobbles Host Canine Charity Walk for Dogs Trust
More than 200 dogs have walked along the famous cobbles at the Coronation Street Experience in Manchester for the first time, marking a special charity event that brought a flurry of new and excited visitors to the iconic TV set. The proceeds from every dog ticket to this unique occasion were donated to Dogs Trust, the UK's largest dog welfare charity, supporting their vital work in animal welfare.
Dogs Dressed Up for the Occasion on Weatherfield's Streets
Many dogs dressed up for the occasion, adding to the festive atmosphere. Weatherfield's police station saw pugs Lilly and Lulu dressed as police officers, while further down the street, owner Brad Wood posed with his dog Bobby, a French bulldog, outside The Kabin newsagent. The soap street, currently home to the Platt family dog named David after its owner, has a history of canine characters, including Evelyn Plummer's greyhound Cerberus, Chesney Brown's great dane Schmeichel, and Maria Connor's labrador Ozzy.
Fans and Owners Celebrate with Matching Attire and Photos
Fans enjoyed walking their dogs on the cobbles throughout the day, with owner Annie Palmas dressing her dogs Joey and Jessie in matching blue collars to commemorate the occasion. Tillie, a spaniel, and Dollie, a chihuahua, could be seen posing for pictures outside the street's famous The Rovers Return Inn, capturing memorable moments from this one-of-a-kind event.
Charity Focus: Supporting Dogs Trust Through Ticket Sales
Dog tickets for the special event raised money for Dogs Trust, highlighting the community's commitment to animal welfare. This initiative not only provided a fun day out for pet owners and their furry friends but also contributed to a noble cause, ensuring that the UK's largest dog welfare charity can continue its important work in rescuing and rehoming dogs across the nation.
