Chessington's PAW Patrol Land Sets Opening Date for May 3

Chessington World of Adventures has officially announced the opening date for its highly anticipated PAW Patrol land, with the gates set to swing open on May 3, just in time for the early May bank holiday and ahead of the school half-term break. This new £15 million immersive experience promises to bring the beloved animated series to life, offering families a colourful and playful destination themed around the heroic pups.

New Rides and Play Areas for Young Adventurers

At the heart of the 1.4-acre land are four kid-friendly rides, each inspired by a different character from the PAW Patrol crew. These include Chase’s Mountain Mission, Marshall’s Firetruck Rescue, Skye’s Helicopter Heroes, and Zuma’s Hovercraft Adventure, which is touted as the UK’s first ‘Drifter’ ride. In addition to the rides, the area features three themed play zones designed for children to burn off energy.

  • Rubble & Rocky's Play Zone: A construction-themed maze where kids can climb and crawl through parts.
  • The Flounder Boat Play: A high-seas adventure area with Captain Turbot.
  • Themed food and drink offerings: Available throughout the land to keep families refreshed.

Regular meet-and-greet sessions will allow children to snap photos with their favourite hero dogs, and a gift shop will offer plenty of PAW Patrol merchandise as souvenirs.

Enhanced Accommodation and Early Park Access

For an even more immersive experience, fans can book PAW Patrol-themed rooms at the resort's hotels. These colourful accommodations include bunk beds shaped like the pups' rescue vehicles and vibrant murals. Guests staying at these hotels also benefit from early access to the park from 9am, enabling parents with young children to enjoy rides with minimal queues.

Chessington's PAW Patrol land is the UK's first and only theme park area dedicated to the series, which has gained massive popularity among pre-schoolers through broadcasts on Channel 5 and Nickelodeon, as well as streaming on Paramount+.

Other Theme Park Developments Across the UK

Chessington is not the only park enhancing its offerings this year. Paultons Park will debut its new Valgard — Realm of the Vikings land from May 16, featuring a new rollercoaster and swing ride. Meanwhile, Crealy Theme Park plans to add two new rides for summer 2026, including Pirates' Plummet, claimed to be the tallest ride in the south west, and Rotor, an inverting flat ride that spins passengers upside-down for a thrilling adventure, although exact dates for these additions are still to be confirmed.
