Cheshire Oaks Winter village opens with Santa's Grand Parade

Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet has officially unveiled its Christmas programme for 2026, including its Winter village and market stalls, in what is Ellesmere Port's very own winter wonderland.

The celebrations kicked off with a new event this year - the launch of Santa's Grand Parade on Friday (November 6). The free parade sees Santa walk around the designer outlet greeting children and spreading joy, accompanied by toy soldiers, elves, fairy ballerinas and a festive drummer. The parade brings live performances, music, character moments and giveaways.

Parade dates and timings

The parade sets off from guest services and travels through phases three and four of the site. After its launch-night appearance, the parade will return on December 5-6, 12-13 and 19-20, with 30-minute performances at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm. No ticket or advance booking is needed.

Visitors can also take to the ice at Oaks on Ice until January 3, with a fully covered, fairy-lit real-ice rink which features an outdoor ice path around the famous Cheshire Oak tree. For the braver members of the family, there's a big wheel that sits right next to the Winter village and gives shoppers a bird's eye view of all the festivities.

Food, rides and entertainment

The food stalls serve all the Christmas favourites, including bratwurst from its traditional swing grill, jacket potatoes, loaded roasties, mac and cheese, crepes, waffles, mulled wine and hot chocolate. Private huts for up to six people can be pre-booked, with karaoke available for groups. The Big Wheel offers ten-minute flights above the village, while free screenings in the Alpine Lodge include family favourites Home Alone, Deck the Halls and The Grinch on selected dates.

With all the outlet's shops extending their opening hours across Christmas, there really is something for all the family.

Free festive experiences

Speaking ahead of its opening, Kenny Murray, General Manager at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, said: "We know Christmas can put extra pressure on family budgets, so it matters to us that everyone can enjoy some festive magic without buying a ticket or planning weeks ahead."

"With Santa's Grand Parade, festive films, decorations and our walk-through Christmas tree all free to enjoy, families can spend time together and make special memories. We want visitors to come for the Christmas shopping and stay for the experience."
