British holidaymakers looking for the best value getaway in Europe need look no further than sunny Bulgaria, according to new research from the Post Office and TUI.
Sunny Beach Tops the Charts
The annual Holiday Money Report reveals that Bulgaria's Sunny Beach resort offers the most affordable package holiday experience in Europe. With prices nearly 30% cheaper than last year, it's beaten traditional favourites like Spain and Portugal to the top spot.
What Makes Bulgaria So Affordable?
- Meal deals: A three-course dinner for two with wine costs just £39
- Drinks: Local beer prices average £1.50 per pint
- Accommodation: Seven-night packages start from £499 per person
- Activities: Waterpark entry is half the price of Spanish equivalents
How Other Destinations Compare
Portugal's Algarve came second in the value rankings, while Turkey's Marmaris region took third place. Surprisingly, traditional favourites like the Costa del Sol and Greek islands have become significantly more expensive this year.
