A 23-year-old British woman has defied the odds after surviving a horrifying 30ft plunge from a cliff in Benidorm during a holiday with friends.
The young tourist, whose identity remains undisclosed, tumbled from the rocky outcrop in the early hours of Sunday morning following a night out in the popular Spanish resort.
Miraculous Survival Against All Odds
Emergency services rushed to the scene near the iconic Poniente Beach after receiving multiple distress calls around 4:30 am. Witnesses reported hearing screams before seeing the woman lying motionless on the rocks below.
"We thought the worst when we saw her fall," said one shaken bystander. "The height was terrifying - it's a miracle she's alive."
Daring Rescue Operation
Local firefighters and paramedics conducted a complex vertical rescue, carefully stabilizing the victim before transporting her to Hospital Clinica Benidorm. Medical staff confirmed she suffered multiple fractures but is expected to make a full recovery.
"The patient arrived in serious condition but conscious," a hospital spokesperson stated. "Her injuries could have been far worse given the circumstances."
Night Out Turns to Nightmare
Preliminary investigations suggest the accident occurred as the woman attempted to climb the cliff face after becoming separated from her group. Spanish authorities have warned tourists about the dangers of the area, especially after dark.
"These cliffs may look inviting but they're extremely hazardous," cautioned a local police officer. "We urge visitors to stay on marked paths and avoid risky behavior."
Family Rushed to Her Side
The woman's family has flown to Spain to be by her bedside. Friends describe her as "vivacious and full of life," expressing shock at the incident but relief at her survival.
British consular officials are providing assistance to the family and confirmed they're in contact with Spanish authorities regarding the investigation.
