Brit visits 86 countries from local airport, flight £3

A travel-obsessed Brit is on a mission to fly to all 120 destinations from his local airport, and he has already conquered 86 of them. Neil Loft, 44, from Bristol, has been jetting off from Bristol Airport for years, using his experience as cabin crew and former travel agent to find incredible deals. His cheapest flight cost just £3, taking him on a whirlwind tour of three countries in a single day.

A Lifelong Passion for Travel

Neil left school at 16 to become a travel agent, later working as an overseas holiday representative before joining the cabin crew. He has been flying for over a decade and dedicates most of his spare time to his goal. Last year, he visited 21 destinations, and this year he managed three in one day. He said: "I am well on track to achieve all 120 destinations. I have only got a handful more to do."

Three Countries in 24 Hours

In March 2026, Neil visited Basel in Switzerland, St Louis in France, and Weil am Rhein in Germany within 24 hours. He started in Basel, took a tram to the French border, walked to St Louis for coffee and a croque monsieur, then returned to Basel before another tram ride to Germany for a beer at a rooftop bar. The entire trip cost just £3 thanks to a travel pass. He said: "It was shockingly easy. I took a bit of time in each to have a drink and a mooch about, but you could have done all three countries in two or three hours if you wanted to."

Budget Travel Tips

Neil's experience helps him find cheap flights, often cheaper than a taxi to Bristol city centre. He said: "I know where to look to get the best flights and pair them up with hotels and transfers. Being a holiday rep gave me the confidence to do it alone." He has seven more trips planned for 2026 and hopes to inspire others to explore. "We are so fortunate in the UK to have Europe on our doorstep," he added.
