A British tourist has been reported missing in Tenerife after failing to board his return flight home, sparking an international search. Gerallt, 28, from Llandudno in Wales, arrived on the island on July 7 and was due to fly back to Manchester on July 12, but never boarded the plane.
North Wales Police said they are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare. In a statement, the force said Gerallt was last seen leaving his home in Llandudno on July 4, and they believe he travelled to Tenerife via Manchester Airport on July 7. Checks with the airline confirmed he did not take his scheduled return flight.
Spanish and British authorities are collaborating in the search, with the British Embassy providing assistance. The disappearance comes as an inquest in the UK continues into the death of Jay Slater, another British teenager who went missing in Tenerife last year.
Gerallt is described as a white male, five feet eight inches tall, with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a navy blue tracksuit and black trainers. Police have urged anyone with information to contact them, quoting reference number 51398.
