3 European Holiday Hotspots Cheaper Than Usual This Summer
3 European Holiday Hotspots Cheaper Than Usual This Summer

A holiday expert has identified three European destinations that offer better value this summer, helping travellers stretch their budgets further. Despite the typical surge in travel demand during the summer season, these hotspots have seen notable price reductions.

Price Drops Across Europe

Gavin Brewer, Head of Aviation at loveholidays, stated: "There isn't a blanket trend of rising holiday costs across the board, and there are still bargains to be found." While the United States experienced the largest price reduction—seven-night packages dropping by £117 per person on average since the Middle East conflict began—Bulgaria, Montenegro, and Turkey have also seen significant cuts on seven-night summer packages.

Bulgaria: Budget-Friendly Beaches and Culture

Bulgaria, with its golden Black Sea beaches and mountain scenery, has seen prices fall by an average of £60 per person. A local beer costs around €2.32 (£2), making it a budget-friendly choice. Popular spots include the capital Sofia, home to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and Vitosha Boulevard, and the ancient city of Plovdiv, a former European Capital of Culture with over 8,000 years of history.

Montenegro: Balkan Gem Without the Crowds

Montenegro, often compared to Croatia but less crowded, has seen prices drop by about £53 per person. Highlights include the Bay of Kotor, described as "Europe's southernmost fjord," with medieval towns like Kotor and Herceg Novi (UNESCO World Heritage sites), and Durmitor National Park, known for its glacier-carved peaks and glacial lakes.

Turkey: Rich Culture and Diverse Landscapes

Turkey has seen price cuts of around £35 per person. Istanbul's Sultanahmet district features landmarks such as Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace. Cappadocia offers surreal rock formations and hot air balloon rides at sunrise. Brewer added: "There are still plenty of affordable getaways available this summer. If price is your main priority, a great way to find the best deal is to search our platform for holidays based on your budget alone."
