Wingstop Opens Glasgow Fort Restaurant June 22

Fans of a popular American fast food chain will be delighted by the news that it is expanding in the UK. Wingstop plans to expand across the UK. An American fast food chain will edge closer to 60 UK restaurants as it announces a brand new British site opening up.

New Glasgow Location

Wingstop already has 57 restaurants across the UK and has become a popular choice in major cities such as London, Manchester and Birmingham. Recently, the opening date for its new Glasgow store has been revealed, with reports suggesting that Wingstop will open its new shop in Glasgow Fort on Monday, June 22.

Wingstop, as the name suggests, specialises in chicken wings as well as other fast-food chicken items. It first arrived in the UK in 2018 and has grown significantly since. Diners at the new Glasgow store can expect a full menu of chicken wings, tenders and burgers, all cooked to order and hand-sauced and tossed in Wingstop's bold flavours, ranging from Hawaiian and Lemon Pepper, to Mango Habanero and Atomic.

Third Store in Glasgow

The new store will be the chain's third in the Scottish city. It already has existing branches at St Enoch and Silverburn. The shopping centre teased the chain's arrival on its social media accounts, writing: "It's official! Wingstop is opening its doors at Glasgow Fort on June 22." "Keep an eye on our socials for everything they will have in store on the day."

Last year, Wingstop opened several new UK restaurants as part of its ambitious expansion plans for the UK. The chain is currently planning to grow to as many as 200 sites in the UK within the next five years, including recently announced plans to launch in Ireland.

As it stands, Wingstop already has thousands of staff members in the UK. Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Wingstop would open in several other UK locations.

Retail Park Expansion

British Land recently completed seven new leasing deals with Wingstop UKI across its UK retail park portfolio, totalling 22,000 sq ft. They include Reading Gate, New Mersey Shopping Park in Speke and Cyfarthfa Shopping Park in Merthyr Tydfil.

Matthew Reed, Head of Retail Parks at British Land, said: "Retail parks continue to benefit from structurally strong demand and limited new supply. As a result, our parks are outperforming wider retail benchmarks on both footfall and sales. These seven deals with Wingstop clearly demonstrate the depth of demand from leading brands for high-quality space across our retail park portfolio when opportunities come to market."
