The Dutch railway operator Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) has launched a railcard offering unlimited train travel across the Netherlands for just £42.20 (€49) per month. The Nederland Dal Vrij subscription provides unlimited off-peak journeys, including weekends and public holidays, throughout the summer.
What the Deal Includes
The discounted subscription is available until 30 June, after which the regular price of £110.18 (€127.95) applies. The offer represents a saving of £67.99. According to NS, the pass allows travellers to explore the country from Groningen to Middelburg and from Maastricht to Den Helder.
Popular Destinations
Amsterdam, with its 165 canals, cycling culture, world-famous museums, and distinctive architecture, is a prime destination. Visitors can enjoy canal strolls, boat tours, stroopwafels, and coffee shops. Rotterdam, the second-largest city, offers modern architecture, Europe's largest port, the market hall, cube houses, and historic canal districts.
How It Works
NS states: "NS Flex Dal Vrij is great if you’re often out and about during off-peak hours, in the weekends and on public holidays: you can enjoy unlimited travel at those times." The pass is cost-effective for those buying two return tickets weekly. Even after the deal ends, the regular subscription remains cheaper than individual tickets.
Comparison to UK Rail
The offer undercuts many UK train fares: a single from London to Bristol costs up to £45 on a July weekend, and Bristol to Manchester up to £47.60. For details, visit the NS website.
