Ubisoft is planning to update two more of its older games later this year: Ghost Recon Wildlands and Watch Dogs Legion. This follows the recent release of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which sold over 3 million copies in its first week.
Ghost Recon Wildlands Definitive Edition
Fans of the Ghost Recon series can expect a new version of Wildlands for current-generation consoles. An image of a ‘Ghost Recon Wildlands Definitive Edition’ appeared on Reddit earlier this week, suggesting a resolution and framerate boost for the 2017 title.
Ubisoft acknowledged the leak but did not provide details. However, the official Ghost Recon X account posted: “It’s been a while Ghosts! We know some of you saw some updates, we’ll have more to say on the 6th of August when we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Ghost Recon. Intel coming soon.”
Watch Dogs Legion Upgrade
According to Insider Gaming, Watch Dogs Legion is also expected to receive an upgrade in 2026. The game, which launched in 2020, already has native versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with performance modes up to 60fps. The update may include new missions and cutscenes rather than just graphical improvements.
Ubisoft’s Strategy
Revisiting older titles appears to be paying off for Ubisoft. The remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag sold over 3 million copies in its first week. With new entries in major franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon still years away, these updates serve to keep fans engaged.
