Rangers Land Marquee Arrivals
Rangers went all in to finish on a high with a pair of marquee arrivals. Stuttgart winger Badredine Bouanani clinched a season-long loan move, with an eye-popping £15.5m buy option next summer if he turns heads at Ibrox.
The club's senior arrivals include Lawrence Shankland from Hearts on a free, Ross McCrorie from Bristol City for £900,000, Ben Godfrey on loan from Atalanta, Ivor Pandur from Hull for £6m, Dan Neil from Sunderland on a free, Cammy Devlin from Hearts on a free, Vanja Dragojevic from Partizan Belgrade for £4.6m, Olwethu Makhanya from Philadelphia Union for £3m, Daisuke Yokota from Hannover 96 for £2.75m, James Penrice on loan from AEK Athens, Kosta Nedeljkovic on loan from Aston Villa, Minsu Kim from Girona for £8.5m, and Kevin Kelsy from Portland Timbers for £9m.
Senior departures include James Tavernier released, Ben Davies to Bolton on a free, Bailey Rice on loan to Kilmarnock, Jack Butland to Hull for £3m, Leon King to Ayr United on a free, Danilo on loan to Botafogo, Oliver Antman to Anderlecht for £4.5m, Paul Nsio on loan to St Mirren, Nedim Bajrami on loan to Al-Taawoun, Mohamed Diomande to Corum for £4.5m, Lyall Cameron on loan to Dundee United, Connor Barron on loan to Middlesbrough, and Thelo Aasgaard to Anderlecht on loan. Several end-of-loan returns also occurred.
Celtic's Deadline Day Activity
Celtic saw a flurry of activity on Wednesday with six additions before the European deadline. A deal for Gvidas Gineitis will be revisited by Martin O'Neill in January. Oliver Sorensen, Jordan Lotomba and Sam Johnstone have made their Europa League squad.
Celtic could go back in for Gineitis in January after failing to nail down a deal for the Torino midfielder. Record Sport understands the Hoops made another deadline day attempt to land the Lithuanian despite missing the Wednesday cut-off point to register for the Europa League.
Celts were prepared to offer up to £9m, but Torino refused to budge from a valuation closer to £13m. The Italian outfit have been left stewing having drafted in replacements in anticipation of a sale with Rolando Mandragora arriving from Fiorentina and Daniel Braganca moving from Sporting Lisbon. Celtic will keep tabs on the 22-year-old and are expected to return after the turn of the year.
Hearts, Hibs and Dundee United Deals
Leart Kabashi has signed for Hearts, Alex Williams has joined Hibs and Zidane Iqbal was Dundee United's marquee arrival on deadline day. Owen Eames beat the cut-off to join Falkirk.
Hibs beat the deadline to land Wales U21 international Alex Williams on loan from West Brom. The full back becomes David Gray's ninth summer signing, with the Easter Road club also waiting for an answer from former England striker Danny Ings over a move to Leith.
A product of the Baggies' academy, Williams made his senior debut against Derby County in the EFL Cup in August 2025 before appearing against Stoke City in his first league match later that same month. The wide man has made three top team appearances in the West Midlands and has also won seven U21 caps for his country.
